Mill Farm Development / AFC Fylde - Public Meeting Notes

Following the Public Meeting held on Friday 13th December 2013 by the Wesham Town Council, SWAK would like to report a précis of points raised during the evening:-

The overall attendance at the Meeting was high.  A councillor stated they had never had a Council Meeting like it in terms of the interest and attendance figures.  Whilst some in attendance were vocal in their support of the development because it would provide a better football facility for AFC, it was noted that there were no comments voicing their opinion in favour of the industrial, retail, warehousing, sports science facility, fast food outlet, public house outlet or petrol station nor were there any official representatives of the same?  Taking the AFC contingency out of the equation the majority at the meeting came across as against the proposal.

It was noted that whilst the Developer, David Haythornthwaite, attended the meeting, he did not once address the audience or allay any concerns aired at the meeting which was disappointing.  Is this because he has no argument to these issues?

There are many strong and valid reasons against this proposed development and we call upon anyone against this proposal and/or affected by it to submit their letter of objection.  Thank you.

We are concerned that the proposed development of Mill Farm into a retail and industrial park will have a number of undesirable consequences and we are pleading for your help in stopping it.
